Gateway - South recap Oct. 16, 2012
Justin Freed of Timberland ran for the longest rushing play in Gateway - South this season against Howell North last week. Freed scampered for 63 yards on the play and finished with 64 on the day as his team beat the Knights.
The win marks ninth in a row for the Howell.
Timberland's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Ryan Bainbridge threw for 60 and one touchdown and John Hummel had 25 yards receiving. On the ground Lucas Jordan chipped in 90 yards. Travis Arndt helped Timberland's passing attack out by catching one ball for 21 yards.
Jared Renfroe made the biggest impact on defense this week as Ed Gilreath's team defeated Howell North. The sophomore pulled down 85 interceptions.
Timberland's offense has been unstoppable this season and the T-Wolves feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Bainbridge has thrown for 400 yards and four touchdowns this season, while Hummel has four catches for 94 yards. Jordan leads the league in rushing with 490 yards.
The T-Wolves took down John Brune's team 52-13 last week, the largest margin of any game. Bainbridge ran for two yards in the win.
