The Orcas Island Vikings were the 60-57 winner over the LaConner Braves when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Orcas Island was the victim of a tough 65-44 defeat at the hands of LaConner on Tuesday. Orcas Island has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Several Vikings players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Joe Stephens, who scored 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Romero Lago, who scored 9 points.
Orcas Island now has a losing record at 1-2. As for LaConner, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Orcas Island will face off against Friday Harbor at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Friday Harbor and Orcas Island are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for LaConner, they will head out on the road to face off against Kingston at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.
