After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Salem Hills, Cedar Valley was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 19-2 margin over the Timpview Thunderbirds. Considering the Aviators have won five contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Centry Lundberg made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last seven matches.
In other batting news, Makaylie Lundberg was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in RBI. Jeslyn Collins was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing Three bases. while going 1-for-2.
Cedar Valley is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.
