The Eaton Rapids Greyhounds will head out to take on the Fenton Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Eaton Rapids is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.5 runs per game this season.
Fenton will be up against a hot Eaton Rapids squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Everything went the Greyhounds' way against Waverly on Thursday as they made off with an 11-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Greyhounds, who have now won 17 contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Kalli Ordiway made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Abi Pratt was incredible, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Madaelen Putnam, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.
Meanwhile, Fenton posted their closest win since May 10, 2024 on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Linden 9-8.
The team relied heavily on Lillian Tillier, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Taryn Craven, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
Fenton is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-5-1 record this season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 12.2 runs. As for Eaton Rapids, they pushed their record up to 23-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Eaton Rapids has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Fenton struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
