The Wells Leopards will challenge Non Varsity Tournament Opponent at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Wells will be looking to extend their current 14-game winning streak.
Wells came out on top against Pyramid Lake on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive 13-run third inning. The Leopards were the clear victors by a 17-2 margin over the Lakers. The result was nothing new for the Leopards, who have now won 19 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Luis Garcia and Teagan Calton were major factors while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Garcia tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Meanwhile, Calton tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two hits in ten consecutive appearances. At the plate, Garcia went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one run, while Calton went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases Calton has posted over his last nine matches.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cesar Beruman, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. Gage Uhlig was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Wells was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .591. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .304 or higher in six consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Non Varsity Tournament Opponent came up short against Drumright on April 11th, falling 16-3. Non Varsity Tournament Opponent has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Wells pushed their record up to 21-3 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Non Varsity Tournament Opponent, their loss dropped their record down to 17-30.
Wells couldn't quite get it done against Non Varsity Tournament Opponent in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 as they fell 18-14. Can the Leopards avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
