Softball Recap: Northeast Jones Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

Northeast Jones waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They blew past Mendenhall 14-1. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Northeast Jones also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Caroline Myrick made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. Myrick was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Taylor Landrum, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Kylinn Vice was another key player, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4.

Northeast Jones always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mendenhall only posted an OBP of .125.

Northeast Jones' win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-3-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.3 runs over those games. As for Mendenhall, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-5-1.

Northeast Jones will have a chance to go back-to-back against Mendenhall: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
