The San Diego Jewish Academy Lions can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent match on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Kearny 62-30 at home. With that win, San Diego Jewish Academy brought their scoring average up to 50.4 points per game.
San Diego Jewish Academy found their leader in underclassman Ethan Abeles, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and seven steals. Abeles hasn't dropped below 16 points for eight straight games. David Feigenbaum was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five steals.
Kearny's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Braeden Hatch, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Emanuel Escobedo, who scored three points along with five rebounds.
Kearny struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as San Diego Jewish Academy racked up 18 assists.
The victory got San Diego Jewish Academy back to even at 10-10. As for Kearny, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-18 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. San Diego Jewish Academy will face off against Classical Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Classical Academy is coming into the contest with seven straight defeats at home, meaning San Diego Jewish Academy will have to defend against a squad hungry for a win. As for Kearny, they will head out on the road to take on Mira Mesa at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Mira Mesa is facing Kearny at the right time seeing as Kearny is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
