On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Clancy Rogers, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.
Meanwhile, Lake Forest had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 9-4 victory over the Warriors.
Lake Forest also got a great performance from Hudson Scroggins as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over 4.2 innings pitched. Scroggins also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because the Scouts are 6-3 when he allows at most one earned run, but 6-10 otherwise.
At the plate, Charlie Quick was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs and two RBI. Lake Forest is undefeated when Quick posts two or more runs, but 8-13 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jack Lamberti, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Lake Forest was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.
Glenbrook South's record is now 11-16. As for Lake Forest, their record now sits at 12-13.
Everything went Glenbrook South's way against Lake Forest in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Glenbrook South made off with a 13-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Titans since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
