North Central suffered a letdown when it was bounced from the state Top 25 this week after falling to North Vigo. The Panthers had been ranked 25th, but fell to 31.
Center Grove extended the longest winning streak in Metropolitan this week by beating Warren Central, 8-5. The win marks sixth in a row for the the Trojans.
South Vigo's Danny Etling and Tyler Seibert have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-3 quarterback Etling has thrown for 1251 yards this season, while Seibert has 30 catches for 630 yards. Anthony Cooper-Taylor from the Warriors leads the league in rushing with 457 yards.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Carmel and Warren Central. The Greyhounds enters the game ranked third in the state, while Steve Tutsie's team ranks 10th.
Two of the top units in Metropolitan will face off this week when the Warriors take on Carmel. Warren Central's offense has scored 191 points this season, good for No. 1 in the league, while Kevin Wright's team has allowed only 68 on the year.
Two highly touted recruits will be in the spotlight when the Greyhounds and the Warriors meet this week. Carmel features well-regarded junior Austin Roberts while Warren Central has Jaylen Daniels, a sought after freshman.
Center Grove and the Warriors played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Center Grove eventually emerging with a 8-5 victory.
