The North Plainfield Canucks will head out on the road to face off against the Edison Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. North Plainfield is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
Last Saturday, North Plainfield was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 48-44 to Metuchen.
Edison suffered their biggest defeat since December 16, 2023 on Saturday. They were the victim of a rough 74-51 loss at the hands of Sayreville. While losing is never fun, Edison can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 320th, while Sayreville is ranked 139th).
North Plainfield has been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season. As for Edison, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-9.
North Plainfield was able to grind out a solid win over Edison in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, winning 72-64. The rematch might be a little tougher for North Plainfield since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
