The Argyle Eagles had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.4 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Thursday. They breezed by Independence on the road to the tune of 63-0. The result was nothing new for Argyle, who have now won four matches by 30 points or more so far this season.
Maguire Gasperson looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 131 yards and four touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes, and also punching in a touchdown on the ground. Braden Bach was in the mix too, providing Argyle with two touchdowns.
Argyle's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Independence, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-7.
Argyle will look to defend their home field on October 27th against Denton at 7:00 p.m. Denton will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 623rd, while Argyle is ranked 87th). As for Independence, they will head out on the road to face off against Lake Dallas at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th.
