The Community Christian Warriors will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Lakewood Presbyterian Knights at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
After a string of three wins, Community Christian's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 38-30 to Garland Christian Academy. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Community Christian has scored all season.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Jonathan Blackburn, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiden Sipes, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, Lakewood Presbyterian's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their tenth straight loss. They were beaten by Trinity Christian Academy 98-51. Lakewood Presbyterian was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 55-18.
Despite the loss, Lakewood Presbyterian had strong showings from Sean Warren, who scored 14 points, and Judah Allen, who scored 11 points. Allen is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight.
Community Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 24-6. As for Lakewood Presbyterian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-14 record this season.
Community Christian came up short against Lakewood Presbyterian when the teams last played back in December of 2015, falling 58-51. Thankfully for Community Christian, Thomas Barbre (who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 15 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
