Coolidge is on a 12-game streak of home wins, while the Trojans are on a 18-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Coolidge Bears will take on the Valley Christian Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Coolidge has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 433 points over their last six games.
Even though American Leadership Academy - Ironwood scored an imposing 61 points on Friday, Coolidge still came out on top. Coolidge secured a 67-61 W over the Warriors.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Coolidge to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ja'kwan Jordan, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 21 rebounds. Jordan has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Tory Gholston, who scored 26 points.
Meanwhile, Valley Christian stacked an 18th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They blew past Gilbert Christian 86-64. The score was close at the half, but Valley Christian pulled away in the second half with 43 points.
Coolidge is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season. As for Valley Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 23-2.
Coolidge didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against the Trojans when the teams last played back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 68-62 victory. Will Coolidge repeat their success, or do the Trojans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
