The St. Anthony Yellowjackets can now show off ten landslide victories after their most recent game on Friday. They blew past St. Augustine 53-33. The win was some much needed relief for St. Anthony as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Leading St. Anthony to victory were Laura Sierra and Alejandra Vargas. Sierra dropped a triple-double on 12 points, ten rebounds, and ten blocks, while Vargas dropped a double-double on 12 points and 15 assists. Sierra is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Lisette Vargas was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six steals.
St. Anthony now has a winning record of 12-11. As for St. Augustine, they bumped their record down to 2-6 with that defeat, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season.
St. Anthony will take on Providence Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Providence Catholic has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 15. As for St. Augustine, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against St. Joseph Academy at 5:00 p.m.
