The Tabb Tigers will face off against the Warhill Lions at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tabb is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.
Tabb will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Lafayette on Friday. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 20-10 margin over the Rams.
Milenah Camacho and Alayna Davidson did most of the damage at the plate: Camacho went 3-for-4 with four runs, three RBI, and one stolen base, while Davidson went 2-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That stolen base marked the first that Camacho has snagged this season. Lakelyn Bagheri was another key player, going 3-for-6 with three runs and one RBI.
Tabb hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive games.
The home team had won the previous four meetings between Warhill and York, and York kept the tradition alive. The Lions fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 7-5 on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Lions have suffered since April 10, 2024.
Ellie Jacobs was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Payton Auerbach - GMU, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.
Tabb now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Warhill, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-3.
Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Tabb has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .457. However, it's not like Warhill struggles in that department as they've averaged .496. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Tabb suffered a grim 16-10 defeat to Warhill in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
