The Altoona-Midway Jets will be playing at home against the Liberty HomeSchool Alliance Arrows at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Altoona-Midway focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Friday.
Altoona-Midway unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak. They received a tough blow as they fell 54-40 to Uniontown. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Altoona-Midway in their matchups with Uniontown: they've now lost eight in a row.
Despite the loss, Altoona-Midway had strong showings from Jacob Meigs, who scored 15 points along with four blocks and two steals, and William Stackhouse, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Stackhouse is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Kieran Foster was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Liberty HomeSchool Alliance ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They snuck past Newton HomeSchool with a 64-59 win. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Altoona-Midway's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Liberty HomeSchool Alliance, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Altoona-Midway and Liberty HomeSchool Alliance were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in January of 2023, but Altoona-Midway came up empty-handed after a 50-49 loss. Can Altoona-Midway avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
