Mauston extended their losing streak to 14 on Saturday, dropping them down to 1-15. They came up short against the New Lisbon Rockets, falling 18-8. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rockets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 23-5 back in March.
Rylea Mehne was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and two RBI. Marley Fisher was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
As for New Lisbon, they moved to 7-10 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. Their offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last three games.
On New Lisbon's side, Aria Knee looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Knee has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, New Lisbon got a massive performance out of Karey Edgerton, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Jossi Clark, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
Coming up, Mauston will take on Adams-Friendship at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for New Lisbon, they will host Catholic Central at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Hilltoppers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.21 runs per game on average), something the Rockets will no doubt try to take advantage of.
