Cordova has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Southwind Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Thursday, Cordova had to suffer through a rough 61-29 loss at the hands of the Tigers.
Meanwhile, Southwind's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They fell to Arlington 40-35. Southwind has struggled against the Tigers recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Canija Madison, who scored five points along with two steals. Juliannah Sharp was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Cordova dropped their record down to 0-7 with that defeat, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 25.1 points per game. As for Southwind, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost seven of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season.
Cordova might still be hurting after the 49-28 defeat they got from the Jaguars in their previous matchup back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Southwind's Tashawn Hubbard, who dropped a triple-double on 21 points, 11 rebounds, and ten steals. Now that Cordova knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
