White Knoll hasn't had much luck against Chapin recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Timberwolves are taking a road trip to square off against the Eagles at 6:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
As a matter of fact, White Knoll put up the most runs they have all season on Friday. They blew past Spring Valley 15-3. With that victory, the Timberwolves brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.
Jean Maldonado was a standout: he got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Dillon Woods, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI.
White Knoll always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .618. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Spring Valley only posted an OBP of .450.
Meanwhile, Chapin had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Yellow Jackets with a sharp 10-1 win.
Griff Harper looked comfortable as he struck out eight batters over 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Weston Plotner and Felix Flecha Ruiz did most of the damage at the plate: Plotner went 2-for-4 with two runs and two doubles, while Flecha Ruiz went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those two doubles gave Plotner a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kennedy Leach, who went 1-for-3 with three runs.
Chapin's record is now 13-6. As for White Knoll, the victory got them back to even at 9-9.
White Knoll suffered a grim 9-1 defeat to Chapin when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Can the Timberwolves avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
