While DSST: Conservatory Green's win against DSST: College View wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Hornets sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Wolves on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Hornets have posted since September 27th.
DSST: Conservatory Green had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 24-26, 24-26, 25-16, 25-18, 15-10.
Meanwhile, The Vanguard School hadn't done well against Colorado Springs Christian recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Coursers skirted past the Lions 3-2.
The Vanguard School took Colorado Springs Christian into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 22-25, 18-25, 25-20, 16-14.
DSST: Conservatory Green better focus on containing Aili Haisley and Laila Czarniawski as the pair were huge in The Vanguard School's win. Haisley had 34 digs, while Czarniawski had 12 digs and two aces. Haisley has been hot, having posted 15 or more digs the last seven times she's played. Player #14 also deserves some recognition as she had her first dig of the season.
The Vanguard School was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces every time they've taken the court this season.
DSST: Conservatory Green's record is now 11-8. As for The Vanguard School, their record now sits at 13-5.
