Holly was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 15th straight defeat. They took a 42-32 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Brandon Blackhawks. One positive for the Bronchos, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.
Brandon found their leader in sophomore Ella Rizzo, who dropped a double-double with 23 points and ten boards. That makes it four consecutive games in which Rizzo has scored at least a third of Brandon's points. Jaden Williamson was another key player, going 6-for-9 on her way to 13 points in addition to five rebounds and five steals.
Holly's loss dropped their record down to 1-21. As for Brandon, their win ended a ten-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-17.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Holly will square off against Byron at 7:00 p.m. on February 27th. As for Brandon, they will host New Standard Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
