The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Tacony Academy Charter has struggled recently with 11 losses in a row, while Martin Luther King will arrive with three straight victories.
Last Thursday, it was a hard-fought contest, but Tacony Academy Charter had to settle for a 43-41 loss against Philadelphia Electric Charter.
Meanwhile, Martin Luther King had just enough and edged Vaux Big Picture out 39-37 on Thursday.
Martin Luther King can attribute much of their success to Kyle Baylor, who scored ten points, and Benito Scott, who scored ten points. The game was Baylor's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Adrese Hill, who scored six points.
Tacony Academy Charter bumped their record down to 0-6 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Martin Luther King, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.
