LaVille is 9-1 against Triton since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Lancers will host the Trojans at 5:00 p.m. LaVille's pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so Triton's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
LaVille's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They came out on top against Knox by a score of 4-0. The game was the first time the Lancers have beaten the Redskins on their field since May 11, 2021.

Brayden Schwitz made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He is becoming a predictor of LaVille's success: when he allows at most one hit the team is 3-1 (and 7-9 when he doesn't). Schwitz was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Those four hits gave him a new career-high.
In other pitching news, Collin Czarnecki looked comfortable as he tossed 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.
Schwitz wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Karson Quinn, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Triton, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out Lewis Cass 8-7 on Saturday.
Max Johnson was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run.
Triton is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season. As for LaVille, the win got them back to even at 10-10.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. LaVille has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Triton struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
LaVille skirted past Triton 3-2 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Do the Lancers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Trojans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
