The Hudson Cobras's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight defeat. They were dealt a 54-19 defeat at the hands of Nature Coast Tech. Hudson has not had much luck with Nature Coast Tech recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Despite the loss, Hudson still got an impressive performance from Sydnie Johnson`, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Nature Coast Tech to victory, but perhaps none more so than Quintara Norwood, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. Norwood is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Jaida Grier, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Hudson has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season. As for Nature Coast Tech, their victory ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-10.
Hudson won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against River Ridge at 7:30 p.m. on January 31st. River Ridge presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Hudson in Florida (River Ridge is ranked 58th, while Hudson is ranked 537th). As for Nature Coast Tech, they will be playing at home against Weeki Wachee at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Weeki Wachee's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matches.
