After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Moses Brown, the Mount St. Charles Academy Mounties were happy to have found some success on Friday. They walked away with a 55-42 win over Cumberland. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Mount St. Charles Academy also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
Mount St. Charles Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Addie Stojanowski, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Mariia Solovian, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds.
Despite the loss, Cumberland still got an impressive performance from Bridgitt Van Etten, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Noleen Robelo was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Mount St. Charles Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. As for Cumberland, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-8.
Mount St. Charles Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against East Greenwich at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Mount St. Charles Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Friday. As for Cumberland, they will head out on the road to face off against Woonsocket at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cumberland is facing Woonsocket at the right time seeing as Woonsocket is stuck on a 17-game losing streak.
