The Tooele Buffaloes will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Bear River Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Tooele has four straight victories, Bear River has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Wednesday, Tooele blew past American Prep WV, posting a 46-16 victory at home.
Kennedy Searle was her usual excellent self, scoring 21 points along with six rebounds. Those 21 points set a new season-high mark for her. Josie Kennedy was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Bear River was beaten by Box Elder 55-22 on Wednesday. Bear River has struggled against Box Elder recently, as their game on Wednesday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Bear River saw an underclassman step up: Marley Tisdol scored six points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Tisdol has scored all season.
Tooele now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Bear River, they bumped their record down to 2-6 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Tooele lost to Bear River on the road by a decisive 62-45 margin when the teams last played back in January of 2015. Thankfully for Tooele, Alyssa Park (who scored 16 points along with five assists and four steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
