On Tuesday, the Damonte Ranch Mustangs faced the Spanish Springs Cougars in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Damonte Ranch secured a 48-43 W over Spanish Springs. The win made it back-to-back wins for Damonte Ranch.
Leading Damonte Ranch to victory were Josie Tierney and Mya Ghisletta. Tierney scored 15 points along with nine rebounds, while Ghisletta scored 13 points along with four steals. Tierney continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kylee Moscove, who scored five points.
When it comes to explaining why Spanish Springs lost, one person who can't be blamed is Layni Noonkester. Despite the final result, she scored 13 points along with three steals. Addison Bowers was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with two steals.
Damonte Ranch has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a massive bump to their 8-9 record this season. As for Spanish Springs, their loss dropped their record down to 10-9.
