The Ripon Christian Knights extended their postseason success on Friday against the Orestimba Warriors. They put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 35-14 victory. Winning may never get old, but Ripon Christian sure are getting used to it with their 12th in a row.
Ripon Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Grant Sonke out in front who rushed for 101 yards and a touchdown. Preston Zuidervaart was in the mix too, providing Ripon Christian with two touchdowns.
When it comes to explaining why Orestimba lost, one person who can't be blamed is Juan Esquivez. Despite the final result, he rushed for 125 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries. Esquivez hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for eight straight games.
Ripon Christian's victory bumped their record up to 12-1. As for Orestimba, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-4.
Ripon Christian will take on Woodland Christian at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Woodland Christian is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Orestimba does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
