The Basehor-Linwood Bobcats kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They received a tough blow as they fell 52-37 to West. Basehor-Linwood lost against West in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 65-59 score last time.
West got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jalen Foy out in front who scored 23 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ja'vian Chambers, who scored 15 points.
Basehor-Linwood's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for West, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Basehor-Linwood will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Shawnee Heights on December 12th. As for West, they will be playing at home against Seaman at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
