The Castle View Sabercats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They lost to Ponderosa at home by a decisive 62-45 margin. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Castle View has scored all season.
When it comes to explaining why Castle View lost, one person who can't be blamed is Vitorio Dante. Despite the final result, he scored 23 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. That was a full 51.1% of Castle View's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Larenzo Dixon, who scored six points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ponderosa to victory, but perhaps none more so than Carson Keach, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Dylan Karsteter was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Castle View's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-6. As for Ponderosa, they pushed their record up to 12-4 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Castle View will take on Douglas County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Douglas County knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past ten games -- so hopefully Castle View likes a good challenge. As for Ponderosa, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Highlands Ranch at 7:00 p.m. Highlands Ranch is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 67.6 points per game.
