The Luverne Tigers were the 28-21 winner over the Goshen Eagles when they last played one another back in October of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The game between the two teams wasn't particularly close, with Luverne falling 34-17. That means they have now suffered back-to-back defeats.
Mason Miller threw for 42 yards on three of 13 attempts. On the ground, Tavion Rainey rushed for 57 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries.
Luverne's defeat on Friday dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Goshen, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-2.
Luverne will head out on the road to face off against Reeltown at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Reeltown knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matchups -- so hopefully Luverne likes a good challenge. As for Goshen, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lanett at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
