This season hasn't been kind to the Takini Skyhawks, who are still winless after their fourth game. They took a serious blow against Cheyenne-Eagle Butte on Friday, falling 59-18. Takini lost against Cheyenne-Eagle Butte in their previous head to head back in January of 2019, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 63-35 score last time.
Cheyenne-Eagle Butte can attribute much of their success to JaiLynn Knife, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Knife has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Elisha Mendoza, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds.
Takini's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Cheyenne-Eagle Butte, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
Takini won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Crazy Horse at 8:00 a.m. on December 16th. Crazy Horse comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 18 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. Cheyenne-Eagle Butte won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Tiospaye Topa at 11:00 a.m. on December 16th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Dakota (Tiospaye Topa is ranked 107th, while Cheyenne-Eagle Butte is ranked 119th).
