They came out on top in a nail-biter against Plainfield Central, sneaking past 7-6. The Wolves haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.
Oswego East's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Allie Gatz, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Joliet West, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They blew past Bolingbrook 16-7 on Wednesday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Tigers needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.
Joliet West got a massive performance out of Madaline Woods, who went 4-for-5 with four runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those four runs gave Woods a new career-high. Caitlin Jadron was another key player, going a perfect 5-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple.
Joliet West was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bolingbrook only posted a batting average of .238.
Oswego East pushed their record up to 14-10 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Joliet West, their win bumped their record up to 4-19.
