The Tomball Memorial Wildcats struggled with assists on Tuesday (the Klein Collins Tigers had nine more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Tomball Memorial was beaten by the Tigers 65-27. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Tomball Memorial in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now lost five in a row.
Tomball Memorial's loss came despite strong showings from Emerson Kyle and Dasia Hyams. Kyle scored four points, while Hyams scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Klein Collins' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was A'niyah Harmon, who scored 17 points along with eight assists and five steals. Harmon hasn't dropped below two steals for 12 straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Christin Callens, who scored 21 points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Tomball Memorial's loss dropped their record down to 14-17. As for Klein Collins, the victory was the 20th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 25-3.
Tomball Memorial will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Tomball focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Tuesday. As for Klein Collins, they will head out on the road to square off against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Klein Forest will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 556th, while the Tigers are ranked 54th).
