After a string of three wins, the Haughton Buccaneers's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of Ringgold by a score of 75-73. While losing is never fun, Haughton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 212th, while Ringgold is ranked 58th).
Ringgold got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jbari Adams out in front who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 11 rebounds. Adams has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last six times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordyn Wilson, who scored 23 points along with 8 rebounds.
Haughton's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Ringgold, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Haughton will play host again and welcome Magnolia School of Excellence, where tip off is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. Magnolia School of Excellence is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak. As for Ringgold, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Southwood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Southwood has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 183 points over their last three contests.
