The Yorba Linda Mustangs won the last time they faced the Foothill Knights, and things went their way on Thursday too. Yorba Linda took down Foothill 45-29.
Yorba Linda was led to victory by Holden Nagin and Chase Jones. Nagin threw for 233 yards and two touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes, while Jones rushed for 118 yards and four touchdowns. Yorba Linda also got help from Jake Winners who showed off his sure hands for 90 receiving yards.
Another reason for the win was Yorba Linda's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. Foothill's QB won't forget Joshua Grethen anytime soon given Grethen sacked him four times.
Foothill's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Nicholas Miali, who threw for 287 yards and four touchdowns while completing 72.4% of his passes.
Yorba Linda's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Foothill, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4.
Yorba Linda does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Foothill will play host again and welcome Aquinas, where Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Aquinas is ranked 143rd, while Foothill is ranked 141st).
