The Northwood Chargers entered their tilt with the Southern Alamance Patriots with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. Northwood claimed a resounding 53-20 victory over Southern Alamance at home. Considering Northwood has won four contests by more than 27 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Northwood to victory, but perhaps none more so than Natalia Whitaker, who scored six points along with five assists and five steals. Those five steals set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Neah Henry, who scored 11 points.
When it comes to explaining why Southern Alamance lost, one person who can't be blamed is Sunny Yarnell. Despite the final result, she scored 12 points along with seven rebounds. Those 12 points set a new season-high mark for her. Sarah Kathryn Maness was another key contributor, scoring four points.
Northwood's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-1. As for Southern Alamance, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
