Softball Recap: Holly Wins Going Away Against Kearsley

Holly won the last time they faced Kearsley and things went their way on Monday too. The Bronchos put the hurt on the Hornets with a sharp 11-3 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bronchos.

Alyssa Bowman made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

In other batting news, Holly got a massive performance out of Molly Charboneau (SVSU), who went a perfect 5-for-5 with four stolen bases and two runs. Addyson Quick was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and one run.

Holly was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .514. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Holly's record now sits at 4-6. As for Kearsley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Looking ahead, Holly will be playing at home against Detroit Country Day at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Yellowjackets will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last. As for Kearsley, they will head out to square off against Bentley at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
