The La Plata Bulldogs had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They really took it to Grundy County/Newtown-Harris for the full four quarters, racking up a 63-26 win on the road. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 32-12.
Grundy County/Newtown-Harris' defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Kinsley Allnutt, who scored 6 points along with 16 rebounds and 4 steals, and Landry Oaks who scored 5 points along with 5 rebounds. Allnutt is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season.
La Plata's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Grundy County/Newtown-Harris, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Bevier the next time they take the court. Grundy County/Newtown-Harris will head out to face Bevier at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, while La Plata will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
