Firelands is 1-9 against Keystone since May of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Falcons will be playing in front of their home fans against the Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. Firelands has given up an average of 12 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Firelands and Brookside meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. The Falcons came out on top against the Cardinals by a score of 20-17. The Falcons' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Mckenzie Janosik was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Lexi Schrader was another key player, going 3-for-6 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple.
Firelands was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .463. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Keystone was not able to break out of their rough patch last Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against Independence, falling 10-0.
Keystone saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bristol Foster, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.
Keystone's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Firelands, they moved to 2-3 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.
Keystone's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Firelands hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .379. It's a different story for Keystone, though, as they've only averaged .105. Will they be able to contain Firelands' hitters?
Firelands might still be hurting after the 12-3 defeat they got from Keystone when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Falcons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
