Basketball Recap: Ironton Snags Sixth Win in Last Eight Games

If Dawson-Bryant wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Ironton, they should've done a better job of containing Braden Schreck. The Ironton Fighting Tigers blew past the Dawson-Bryant Hornets 63-39 on Friday thanks in part to Schreck, who went 10 for 16 en route to 26 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. His evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 21 points.

Another player making a difference was Markel Cotton, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 11 boards. Those 11 rebounds gave him a new career-high.

Ironton is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.9 points over those games. As for Dawson-Bryant, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-12.

Ironton has already played their next game, a 67-60 win against Wheelersburg on the 8th. As for Dawson-Bryant, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 59-52 victory against Russell on the 8th.
