River Mill lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Eno River Academy, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's match. The Jaguars were the clear victors by a 16-5 margin over the Bobcats on Thursday. The Jaguars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by seven runs or more this season.

Aydan Smith made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. He has become a key player for River Mill: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three hits, but 5-6 otherwise.

In other batting news, Gavin Loy was a standout: he got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. River Mill is undefeated when Loy posts two or more runs, but 3-6 otherwise. Owen Parrish was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

River Mill always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .579. They are 7-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

River Mill's record is now 9-6. As for Eno River Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.

River Mill does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Eno River Academy, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 19-2 defeat against Voyager Academy on the 22nd.
