Halifax is 8-2 against Greenwood since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. We've got a battle between Wildcats coming up. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Halifax has three straight wins, Greenwood has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Halifax is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Upper Dauphin Area on Friday as Halifax made off with a 14-4 victory. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Wildcats with their most commanding win of the season.

Brandon Schell made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over four innings while giving up four earned runs off four hits. Schell was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last seven games he's played dating back to last season.
In other batting news, Dayton Bittner was a standout: he scored three runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Cohen Bechtel was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
Halifax kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, Greenwood didn't have quite enough to beat Line Mountain on Friday and fell 14-12.
Like Halifax, Greenwood also got a great game from a two-way player: Dylan Yohn. On the mound, he tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Yohn was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Greenwood got a massive performance out of Gavin Oburn, who went 2-for-3 with five RBI, one triple, and one run. Those five RBI gave Oburn a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Michael Hoy, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-2.
Halifax pushed their record up to 3-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Greenwood, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.
Greenwood's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Halifax hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .327. It's a different story for Greenwood, though, as they've only averaged .151. Will they be able to contain Halifax's hitters?
Everything went Halifax's way against Greenwood when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Halifax made off with a 12-3 win. Will Halifax repeat their success, or does Greenwood has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
