The Santa Fe Demons will head out on the road to take on the Pojoaque Valley Elks/Elkettes at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Santa Fe has given up an average of 10.7 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
Having struggled with 17 defeats in a row dating back to last season, Santa Fe turned things around against Tularosa on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Wildcats 15-14. The Demons' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-5. He also put up an RBI, which was his first of the season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Logan Gallegos, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Matthew Armijo was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Pojoaque Valley didn't have quite enough to beat Capital on Tuesday and fell 3-2. The Elks/Elkettes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Andres Trevizo made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Santa Fe's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Pojoaque Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.
Santa Fe took their win against Pojoaque Valley in their previous matchup back in March of 2023 by a conclusive 24-1. Does Santa Fe have another victory up their sleeve, or will Pojoaque Valley turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
