Thomas Jefferson suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Friday. They were outmatched by Deep Run on the road and fell 79-13. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Thomas Jefferson in their matchups with Deep Run: they've now lost seven in a row.
Meanwhile, Hermitage had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past Maggie Walker 69-25 on the road. Hermitage has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 33 points or more this season.
Hermitage had a senior duo take command as Breyona Robinson dropped a double-double on 22 points and 14 rebounds and Jayda Thomas scored 20 points along with nine rebounds and eight assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Thomas has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tori Woodley, who scored five points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
Thomas Jefferson's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Hermitage, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-5.
Thomas Jefferson couldn't quite finish off Hermitage in their previous matchup back in January of 2022 and fell 2-0. Can Thomas Jefferson avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
