It was a good run, but the Parkway Northwest Hoyas unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 47-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Jules E. Mastbaum Vo-Tech. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Parkway Northwest has scored all season.
Jules E. Mastbaum Vo-Tech's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kwasi Hawkins, who scored 12 points. The game was Hawkins' sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Fenton Higgins, who scored 11 points.
Parkway Northwest's loss dropped their record down to 5-1. As for Jules E. Mastbaum Vo-Tech, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Parkway Northwest will take on KIPP DuBois Collegiate Academy at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. KIPP DuBois Collegiate Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 716th, while Parkway Northwest is ranked 141st). As for Jules E. Mastbaum Vo-Tech, they will be playing at home against Girard Academic Music Program at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. That game will pit two of the most dominant players against one another: Jadlin Rose and Hawkins.
