The Cleveland Hill Golden Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Kennedy Bears at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Cleveland Hill has three straight wins, Kennedy has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Monday, Cleveland Hill beat Holland 62-53. With that victory, Cleveland Hill brought their scoring average up to 50.5 points per game.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cleveland Hill to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cameron D'Hilly, who scored 12 points along with four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Steffon Morrow, who scored eight points along with two blocks.
Meanwhile, Kennedy pushed their score all the way to 59 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They lost to Eden at home by a decisive 77-59 margin. While losing is never fun, Kennedy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 839th, while Eden is ranked 337th).
Cleveland Hill is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 8-10 record this season. As for Kennedy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.
Everything went Cleveland Hill's way against Kennedy when the teams last played back in January as Cleveland Hill made off with a 69-48 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cleveland Hill since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
