Gateway Christian lost against the Portsmouth Christian Patriots back in November of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Gateway Christian took a 57-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Portsmouth Christian.
Gateway Christian lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jacob Holestin, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. Keegan Snyder was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Gateway Christian has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season. As for Portsmouth Christian, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-14.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gateway Christian will take on StoneBridge at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Portsmouth Christian, they will be playing at home against Hampton Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hampton Christian Academy will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something Portsmouth Christian surely won't give up without a fight.
