Riverview is 0-8 against Jeannette since February of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Riverview Raiders will be playing in front of their home fans against the Jeannette Jayhawks at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
On Sunday, things could have been worse for Riverview, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 75-58 loss to Fort Cherry.
Meanwhile, Jeannette was able to grind out a solid win over Springdale on Friday, taking the game 66-54. That's two games straight that Jeannette has won by exactly 12 points.
Jeannette can attribute much of their success to Kymone Brown, who scored 21 points, and Jayce Powell, who scored 23 points. Powell continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played.
Riverview has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for Jeannette, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-4.
Riverview came up short against Jeannette when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 75-70. Can Riverview avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
