Monroe and Arlington are an even 4-4 against one another since April of 2021, but likely not for long. The Bearcats will take on the Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Monroe is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.1 runs per game this season.

Monroe fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Snohomish on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 3-2. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Bearcats couldn't push the score so high this time.

Holly Pettitt spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on seven hits and racked up nine Ks.

At the plate, Monroe saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Vivian Knuckey, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles and one run.

Meanwhile, Arlington didn't have quite enough to beat Jackson on Friday and fell 4-3. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Peyton Aanstad put in work no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up four earned runs off eight hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Monroe now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Arlington, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

Monroe got the 'W' when the teams last played back in March of 2025 against Arlington by a conclusive 10-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bearcats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
